Rajasthan Royals will be taking on Gujarat Titans in their 3rd home game of the season. They find themselves in a great situation if they can make most of the home conditions. 3 of their remaining 5 games including this match will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The pitch was on the slower side in the LSG game at this venue where it was challenging for new batters to score runs. However, RR managed to score 202 batting first against CSK in the next match on this ground.
GT have struggled on slowish tracks whether it was in Lucknow or in Ahmedabad in their last match. They will be hoping for a good batting surface where they can make the most of their batting strengths.
Abhinav Manohar, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya are all key batters in the GT lineup along with the reliable finisher Tewatia. Shami is in the best form of his life and can put GT on top in the powerplay.
Rajasthan Royals ended on the losing side more often in their recent outings. They would have expected to chase down 155 against LSG in their first home game. They were on their way to a win against RCB chasing a 190-run target at Chinnaswamy but lost by 7 runs.
In their last match at the Wankhede, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a hundred as RR finished with 212 batting first. To lose by 6 wickets after that must not be a happy camp, the Royals.
Kuldeep Sen who came in for Kuldip Yadav went for 20 runs in one over against MI. RR need Boult to strike early in the powerplay. If he goes for runs early on, the opposition can get away with a big total.
Jason Holder has been very expensive and wicketless in his last three outings. He’s among the experienced bowlers in this side but hasn’t delivered. The likes of Sandeep Sharma and Ashwin also add to the overall experience of the RR bowling attack.
RR have what it takes to be a champion team. Sanju Samson, the skipper, needs to play a longer inning after he gets off to a good start. Yashasvi Jaiswal showed just how it’s done in his last innings. He is in great form at the top while Dhruv Jurel has also shown his big-hitting abilities in the lower order.

Gujarat Titans were big favorites going into their last match against DC in Ahmedabad. Shami’s spell in the powerplay got DC reeling on 23-5 in 5 Overs. At that point, one would have expected GT to finish for not more than 100-110 runs given the bowling arsenal GT possess.
However, Pandya went a little defensive in terms of the field placement after that point on and the batters on the crease got away with a 50-run stand. One of the set batters later took it on and led DC to 130 which turned out to be a match-winning score on that day.
There is a huge learning for Hardik and co. from that loss. They need to continue their aggression in the field and with the bat. Along with Shami, others like Joshua Little, Rashid Khan, and Noor Ahmed are all in great touch.
There is no issue with the bowling for GT at the moment and we reckon their key bowlers will deliver against RR. Saha has been struggling a bit at the top lately while Shubman has been consistent.
GT have also been impressive in the powerplay with the bat and with Hardik finding it easy to score runs even on tricky pitches, we expect another good start from GT in this game.

It has been a bowling-friendly pitch traditionally though the last game here had some big scores. If it is a slow track, it could wear off even more in the second innings, and in that situation, batting first would be the right way to go. The weather would be mostly sunny with a high of 34 degrees Celsius.
Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur will be the venue for this game. There have been just two matches here so far this season. The average 1st innings score at this venue is 159 runs. However, a match-winning total in our opinion would be something over 175-180.
Of the 49 domestic T20s played on this ground, the team batting second have won 32 matches. Both teams have a solid batting lineup with reliable match-finishers and will be comfortable to bat second. To some extent, this decision would also depend on the pitch condition on the match day.
The two teams are equally matched in terms of their strengths. However, one of these teams is in better form with the ball. RR look good in the batting department though their skipper hasn’t been able to turn his good starts into big knocks. However, if Boult finds his rhythm and with Chahal and Ashwin also delivering, RR would pose a tough challenge to GT. If the pitch is on the slower side, GT will find it difficult to chase or even set a good enough total batting first. And for that reason, RR will start with a slight edge in our match prediction.
