Deciding to bat first, they got off to a decent start. The top and middle order both got off to good starts but could not capitalize and make it a big one. Ending up with a score of 145 for the loss of 6 wickets, they would have felt they were 10 runs short. Harshitha Samarawickrama was the top scorer, scoring 45 runs.

Defending a modest total, the bowlers made a great start to the innings. Getting rid of the openers within 5 overs would have filled them with tremendous confidence. But the inability to pick up wickets in the middle cost them as the Bangladesh middle order took the game away from them. The bowlers pulled back proceedings as they managed to pick up wickets at regular intervals which did not let Sri Lanka post a huge score. Restricting them to 145 was a great effort. Fahima Khatun was the pick of the bowlers, picking up 2 wickets for 20 runs.

The Batting department didn’t get off to a great start. Losing both openers within the first 5 overs made the chase even more difficult. But a resilient middle order, led by captain Nigar Sultana managed to get the win for Bangladesh. She played a brilliant knock of 75 off 51 balls, which included 7 boundaries and 2 fours.
