It is the 33rd game in the T20 Blast 2023, and Sussex Sharks will take on the Essex Eagles at home. Both teams are coming where with wins and shall feel confident. The Sussex Sharks defeated Surrey in the last game, where their bowlers did an excellent job. The Essex Eagles won a high-scoring game against Gloucestershire and will like to carry on with the same batting form.
Sussex Sharks are playing at home and have had a good record at this venue. They would look to leverage the home advantage and move up on the points table with a win. The two sides have shared a close rivalry, with four wins each in their last eight encounters. The Eagles won’t make it easy with their batters doing well, and we expect a close contest here.
Ravi Bopara’s side defeated Surrey in the last game by 5 wickets. With this win, they have earned the first points this season. While the bowlers did a good job, the batting didn’t look confident. The middle order looks rusty, a major challenge for the team. Bopara will know Essex’s batting strength and expect a good show from his bowlers.
Tom Clark and Alistar Orr must bat well at the start of the innings and set up a strong platform. Bopara will look to lead from the front and add runs with Tom Alsop and Geroge Garton in the middle order. They will also expect a good show from Michael Burgess and James Coles in the lower middle order.
The bowling attack faces a massive challenge in this game, and they need a good show with the new ball from James Coles and Garton. Fynn Hudson-Prentice and Tymal Mills bowled good lines in the last game and will carry this confidence. Archie Lenham, Bopara, and Henry Crocombe add variety to this attack, making it strong.

Simon Harmer’s side has had a good start to the season. Their batsmen look in good form as they chased down a big total in the last game against Gloucestershire to win by 3 wickets. Harmer would like his bowlers to execute their plans in this game, as their performance in the last one was below par.
Feroze Khushi and Adam Rossington have opened together for a while, and the pair will look to deliver a good start. Robin Das played a match-winning knock in the last game, and he will look to add quick runs in the middle order with Matthew Critchley and Paul Walter. The side bats deep, with Tom Westley, Daniel Sams, and Harmer to follow.
It was a poor outing for their bowlers against Gloucestershire, conceding 195 runs. Harmer and Daniel Sams have a lot of experience, and good spells from them will put the side in a strong position. Sam Cook and Ben Allison had a poor outing, and they must bowl better lines. Paul Walter, Shane Snater, and Critchley shall have to do well in the supporting role.

Hove would see partly overcast skies on June 1. The wicket has been challenging initially, with the ball moving around as we had seen in the last game. Batsmen need to get their eyes in before they start playing their strokes. The side that bats first would be happy to have 170 runs on the board.
County Ground, Hove is a big venue, making it challenging for the batsmen to clear the boundary ropes easily. Fast bowlers have done well here, as the pace and bounce on the surface can put batsmen on the back foot. Spinners don’t get much out of the surface, but the slowness of the surface aids them.
We have already seen a high-scoring game at this venue. The side chasing scores here have always had an advantage. The two captains would have this on their minds at the toss and the one winning it is likely to opt for bowling first in this game.
Sussex Sharks won their last game, and the side will feel confident as they play at home. However, the middle order has been inconsistent in their two games and needs to improve its show. Essex Eagles come here with a convincing win and have enjoyed a good record at this venue. Their batsmen are in good form, and it gives them a slight edge.
