UP Yodha will win.
Tournament: Pro Kabaddi (PKL) | Venue: Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad.
Bet NowThough both teams are more or less assured of a berth in the eliminators, their form just before the next round is very important. The UP Yodha has been consistent as they are on a 4 match-winning spree. Meanwhile, the Bulls got a taste of their own medicine when the Jaipur Pink Panthers hammered them by 20 points in their last encounter.
The Bengaluru defense collapsed completely resulting in one of their biggest defeats of the season. The UP Yodha were quite professional in their approach as Captain Pardeep Narwal scored a Super 10 to beat U Mumba by a margin of 10 points.
The Bengaluru Bulls seem to be losing their sharpness as the league stage is about to end. They have lost 3 out of their last 5 matches which does not augur well for them. It will be an uphill task for the Bulls to stop the Yodha from winning another battle.
The Bulls has been one of the most potent as well as entertaining teams. They have worked together to achieve unbelievable results. The Bulls have been consistent throughout the season maintaining their position in the top 3. But as the eliminators approach, the Bulls look fatigued and out of ideas. They have been able to win just 2 out of their last 5 matches. They got thrashed by the Puneri Paltan, Bengal Warriors, and the Jaipur Pink Panthers.
The Bengaluru Bulls have depended on the core group consisting of raiders Bharat, Vikash Kandola, and Neeraj Narwal. Their defense works around Saurabh Nandal who has been one of the best defenders of the season. If we look for any common pattern in the last 3 losses for the Bulls, it turns out that they have conceded all-outs at crucial moments.
They conceded an all-out twice against the Paltan, thrice against the Bengal Warriors, and twice against the Jaipur Pink Panthers. If the Bulls are not able to stop this leakage, they will certainly stumble into the eliminator.
Raider Bharat has been one of the best on the circuit with 229 raid points from 182 successful raids. Defender Saurabh has executed 52 successful tackles. Another major concern for the Bulls is that raiders Vikash Kandola and Neeraj Narwal have not been able to earn effectively in the last 5 matches which put a lot of pressure on their main raider Bharat.
As a team, the Bulls have conducted 346 successful team raids out of their total 806 team raids. This includes 15 Super raids.
But they have conceded 707 team points while earning 736.
The Bulls have inflicted 36 all-outs in their 19 matches which is the best among all teams. But at the same time, they have conceded 30 all-outs, 7 of them coming in their last 5 matches. This is their biggest concern as they take on the UP Yodha.
The Yodha had defeated the Bulls convincingly in their earlier encounter in the season. The Bulls will be aware of this as they need to beat the UP Yodha to get back in shape before the eliminators.
The UP Yodha recharged itself mid-season as Pardeep Narwal got back his silken touch. Since then, Yodha has not looked back. They are placed 3rd in the points table as they are on the cusp of qualifying for the next round. Earlier in the month, they took a beating from the Jaipur Pink Panthers, but since then, the Yodha has emerged as a strong title contender.
They defeated the Gujarat Fortune Giants followed by a close win over the Patna Pirates. Next, the Yodha avenged its defeat against the Bengal Warriors and then the Yodha defeated U Mumba. They look like a well-oiled machine as they have one more game after this before the eliminators.
Even though “Man of Steel” Surender Gill is not yet fully fit, Pardeep Narwal has been in magical touch. Pardeep should complete his double century of raid points this season as he has earned 198 raid points. Earlier in the season, he became the first man to earn 1500 raid points in PKL.
Apart from Pardeep, young raider Rohit Tomar has used the opportunity to display his skills. Rohit has earned 59 raid points in 15 matches. UP Yodha would have clearly struggled if Rohit would not filled in for Surender Gill.
The Yodha has executed 326 successful team raids apart from executing 172 successful team tackles in 19 matches.
They have earned 710 team points out of which 424 are raid points.
The Yodha has been aggressive on all counts as they have been able to inflict 32 all-outs this season while conceding 23.
Their earning average is also 37.37 per match which is impressive.
The Yodha will be aware of all the chinks in the armor of the Bengaluru Bulls. They were able to tame the Bulls once this season. Yodha will unleash Pardeep Narwal on the Bulls and earn the qualification for the playoff.
Both UP Yodha and the Bengaluru Bulls have been among the top teams of the season, but currently, the Bulls have more issues to sort out before they take on the UP Yodha.
Raider Bharat is their only hope as he has been performing consistently. The form of raiders Vikash Kandola and Neeraj Narwal is a concern for the Bulls. Bharat will score a Super 10 but the support raiders may falter against the tough UP defense. Defenders Saurabh Nandal and Aman may not be able to rein in Pardeep Narwal. Mohit and Mayur Kadam may also leak points with unforced errors.
Pardeep Narwal will rise and shine once again leading the way for the Yodha. All-rounder Sandeep Narwal will be hard on the Bulls making it difficult for their raiders to escape. Defenders Sumit and Ashu Singh will earn well while all-rounder Gurdeep will be impressive in the second half.
Overall the Bulls will find it difficult to escape from the clutches of the UP Yodha.
UP Yodha will win.
