This contest will be more important for Dabang Delhi rather than the Gujarat Fortune Giants. The Fortune Giants are placed 11th in the points table as they have been evaporating on the mat very early in most games. Dabang Delhi had lost a bit of focus mid-season but they are back with a bang. After winning consecutive games, the defending champions have once again sparked the fire in their belly. They need to win all their remaining games to move ahead in the play-off.

The Gujarat Fortune Giants unknowingly went into “Sleep Mode” as the season progressed. They never took off this season and have remained scratchy and ineffective. Their defense could not execute tackles consistently and hence the Fortune Giants find themselves stuck at the 11th position in the points table. They have lost their last 4 games and there seems to be no end of the tunnel for them.

They looked completely out of sorts in their last game against the UP Yodha. The Fortune Giants could not even score for the first 7 minutes of the game as they conceded an all-out too. They had a torrid time in the first half with a lot of unforced errors. The Giants trailed by 10 points at halftime with a meager income of 3 tackle points in the first half. 

It was the young raider Prateek Dahiya who initiated the fight back in the second half but the Fortune Giants lost by a margin of 4 points. It has been a dismal season for the Fortune Giants as even an experienced coach like Ram Mehar Singh could not extract decent performances from the players.

Raider Prateek Dahiya has been the only player to have impressed all. He has earned 83 raid points in just 12 matches that he has played. This includes 5 Super 10 and 2 Super raids.

The Fortune Giants have conducted 265 successful team raids along with just 114 successful team tackles which is the lowest among all teams. This slippery defense has never allowed them to come out of the quicksand. 

They have conceded 567 team points which is quite high compared to other top teams.

The Giants have inflicted 20 all-outs which proves that their raiders have been effective, but at the same time, they have also conceded 21 all-outs which takes away all the good work done by them. 

The Fortune Giants have not been able to forge a super-strong defense this season. Defenders Shankar Gadai and Sourav Gulia have been ineffective while Arkam Shaikh has been aggressively inconsistent. The Fortune Giants will have a tough time handling Dabang Delhi but they can motivate themselves at least to spoil the Dabang’s party.

Dabang Delhi behaved like a young studious kid who got great marks in school but went haywire in college and has come back strongly in life. After winning their first 5 matches, they looked invincible until they came across the Patna Pirates. Their slide began and they lost the next 6 games. Better sense has prevailed since and the defending champions are slowly recovering to stake their claim at the playoff.

But it is still a long way for Dabang Delhi as they will have to win all their remaining matches. They take on the struggling Gujarat Fortune Giants next. This can be a tricky affair for Dabang but they will take this as an opportunity to win big.

Fortunately, Naveen Express is on time and stops at almost all defender stations to loot raid points. He has earned 172 raid points from 140 successful raids which include 11 Super 10’s. Earlier in the season, he was supported by raiders Manjeet and Ashu Malik but Dabang has started using the services of all-rounder Vijay Malik who was very effective in the last season.

Dabang Delhi had a great defensive setup earlier in the season but there was a sudden breakdown mid-season. Defenders Ravi Kumar and Krishnan Dhull lost their charm and this backfired on the defending champions. But they have recovered in time to do well in the last few matches. Defender Vishal has been super consistent with 39 successful tackles in 15 matches.

The defending champions have conducted 292 successful team raids and 153 successful team tackles. 

Dabang has earned 620 total team points while conceding 617. They need to improve on this count by increasing their revenue and reducing their expenses. Though Dabang Delhi have beaten the Fortune Giants once in this season, the Giants have a better record over them. Dabang has lost 5 out their 11 encounters to the Fortune Giants and hence they have to play carefully against them in this reverse round robin match.
