Welcome to a clash of teams who had all the ingredients to succeed this season but never took off. This has been the story of the Steelers and U Mumba. Fans of both teams are disappointed to see their stars fatigued in this long season.

This will be a DoD match for both teams as they need to win all their remaining games to make sure they sneak into the playoff. U Mumba had a torrid time as they lost 3 consecutive matches. But they bounced back with a big win over the Bengal Warriors, a match which saw 90 points being showered by both teams. 

The Haryana Steelers have won just 2 out of their last 5 matches and resemble a spent force. They did manage to get past the Patna Pirates in their last match but looks like they may not be able to move into the next round. But the Steelers have surprised everyone in most of their matches and this encounter with U Mumba can provide some shocking results.

It was expected that the Haryana Steelers would trouble a lot of teams considering their team composition as well as the presence of coach Manpreet Singh. But this has been a forgetful season for the Steelers barring a few games. They find themselves stranded at the 10th spot in the points table with just 6 wins out of 17 games. It is sad to see a young team not able to perform up to its potential. 

Raiders Meetu Sharma and Manjeet Dahiya have earned raid points in all the games. Both have collectively looted 251 raid points in 17 games. Unfortunately, the Steelers do not have a third raiding option who can earn a few more points. They lost consecutive matches last week which further took them down the hole. First, they slipped against a strong Puneri Paltan followed by a drubbing at the hands of Dabang Delhi. But the Steelers have bounced back in style as they beat the Patna Pirates. 

Raiding and tackle efficiency has been the biggest issue for the Haryana Steelers. 

The Steelers have executed 271 successful team raids out of their total 705 team raids.

They have conducted 141 successful team tackles in 17 games which is just better than the Gujarat Fortune Giants who are last on that list. This has been the biggest issue that the Haryana Steelers have not been able to resolve. 

Haryana Steelers have also executed 13 Super tackles which have saved them from conceding all-outs. But at the same time, they conceded 24 all-outs which gets them in dangerous situations, especially in the second half of the match. 

They need to win all their remaining matches to give themselves hope of a miracle. Haryana lost to U Mumba in their last match of the season. But that was a close game which Mumba won by a solitary point. The Haryana Steelers lost the plot due to a tactical blunder in their last raid. With U Mumba struggling, the Steelers have a golden chance to spoil their party as well as keep their own hopes alive.

U Mumba Preview

This has been a typical season for U Mumba who are known to fall prey to fatigue in a long season. U Mumba started off with a lot of issues, but mid-season they looked unbeatable. They weaved a perfect mix of attack and defense to trouble top teams. This helped them move up the points table too.

But a sudden drop in their raiding income has shackled them as they fight for survival. They are placed 8th in the points table after 17 matches and need to win all their remaining encounters to keep their hopes alive for the playoff. U Mumba looked pedestrian as they lost to the Jaipur Pink Panthers earlier in the week. Even the Telegu Titans got the better of them in the next match as the Tamil Thalaiva piled on their agony in the next game. 

In all three matches, the biggest concern was the drop in their raiding income. Raiders Ghuman, Ashish, and Jai Bhagwan look totally fatigued by the long season and unfortunately, U Mumba does not have a lot of backup raiding options. 

U Mumba has executed just 224 successful team raids which is the lowest among all teams. The lack of star raiders has put a cap on their earnings but they still have managed to win games. 

Mumba has executed 24 Super tackles which prove their defensive strength.

They have inflicted 20 all-outs while conceding 20 in their 17 games. This is the leakage they need to repair. In many games, U Mumba has conceded all-outs late in the second half which has taken the game away from them. They start off aggressively but aren’t able to maintain the same efficiency in the second half. 

U Mumba will be up against the struggling Haryana Steelers who are going through a similar crisis. But Mumba has to win this match. They were lucky the last time they met the Steelers as they won the match by just 1 point. This was due to the silly mistakes committed by the Steelers in their last few raids. But Mumba cannot expect to be lucky all the time. This will be a tough match for U Mumba.
