Currently placed 6th in the points table, U Mumba has lost 3 out of its last 5 matches. They looked in great touch last week, but suddenly they have displayed some weaknesses. Though they thrashed the Patna Pirates, they slipped against the Pink Panthers followed by a below-average performance against the Telegu Titans.

The Tamil Thalaiva has roared in its last few games. After losing consecutive matches, the Thalaiva shared honors with the Pirates and then went on to beat the mighty Bengal Warriors. U Mumba off-late has displayed significant weaknesses. They have been a moody side as they are unbeatable on days and otherwise lack intensity. These mood swings have affected their position as they are stuck at the 6th spot in the points table after playing 15 matches. The major concern is the sudden drop in raid earnings. Raiders Ghuman Singh, Ashish, and Jai Bhagwan have been impressive but not ruthless. The moment their opponents corner them, U Mumba is pushed on the back foot due to a reduction in their raiding revenue.

They lost to the Jaipur Pink Panthers followed by the Telegu Titans due to this reason. Unfortunately, a lot of teams have decoded this weakness and Mumba may have to pay the price for this. Their defense has been solid but lack of income always takes the sheen off a good defense. 

Captain Rinku, left corner Kiran Magar and defender Harender have been working overtime to hunt down opposition raiders but their efforts do not yield the necessary results. Mumba will take on a dangerous Tamil Thalaiva who have confidently worked their way past their opponents. 

Another major issue for U Mumba is the lack of options in terms of raiding. Their bench strength in this regard is not inspiring. Also Iranian all-rounder Heidarali Bastami lost this touch after impressive performances. Hence this encounter will be one of the biggest challenges for coach Anil Chaprana.

Tamil Thalaiva has always been slow starters but it is difficult to rein them once they take off. The Thalaiva looks in no mood to stop as they are performing consistently. The most important aspect is that the Tamil Thalaiva has accepted the reality that they will have to survive without star Pawan Sehrawat. They have gathered enough self-belief and this has helped them tide over difficult times. Slowly but surely they are in the hunt for the play-off.

They displayed grit and courage in their last game against the Bengal Warriors. They dominated the first half and held their nerve to beat them by a margin of 5 points. Raider Narender with another impressive Super 10 and Captain Sagar with a lethal Hi 5 sealed the fate of the Thalaiva. They will take on U-Mumba in their next game.

The most impressive aspect of the Thalaiva is that they dare to win. Young raider Narender displayed agility and creativity to win multiple points while Captain Sagar dared to tackle the huge Maninder Singh single-handedly to secure a Super tackle. This has made the Thalaiva very dangerous though many teams do not take them seriously at face value.

Raider Narender has earned 132 raid points from 130 successful raids.

Left corner Sahil Gulia has been impressive with 34 successful tackles in 15 matches. Right cover M Abhishek has also assisted in multiple tackles apart from the 28 successful tackles executed by himself. 

Though the Tamil Thalaiva has inflicted just 16 all-outs they have earned 54 DoD raid points. The Thalaiva plays within its limitations and works on empty raids to build pressure on their opponents, especially in the mid-game. They exploit this by earning DoD raid points and keeping their opponents guessing. 

The Thalaiva had lost to U Mumba earlier in the season but that was a while ago. The long season has taken a toll on all teams but looks like the Thalaiva is getting better day by day. This will be another explosive encounter where the Thalaiva will have to battle the fatigue of playing their second match in 2 days as well as the tenacious U Mumba.
